An actor, musician and singer, Dominic has been working professionally since 2015, when he graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. His first year out of Drama School saw him win both the Sir Alec Guinness Memorial Award and the Linda Bellingham Memorial Bursary.

Dominic Rye is a wonderful comic actor … I challenge you not to laugh out loud when he appears on stage!

Dominic has performed all around the UK, (with venues including Derby Theatre, Chester Storyhouse, Birmingham REP,  and the Yvonne Arnaud), and abroad in Brazil and Shanghai, appearing in plays, concerts musicals and immersive theatre.

Dominic Rye put on show, performing at astonishing speed on the accordion and bewitching the audience with a Celtic lilt on the penny whistle.

His proficiency as a musician has enabled him to participate in the Research and development of a number of new musicals. He has a number of different instruments under his belt, and a wealth of experience fulfilling the role of Music Captain on a number of shows, with responsibility for composing arranging and supervising music.

Prior to being awarded his place at Central, he studied first for a BA in Modern Languages and then for an MA in Humanities, writing his dissertation about translation theory. His love of learning new languages has stayed with him, and to date he has qualifications in six languages and a conversational grasp of two others. Moreover, his linguistic training and musical ear make him adept at accents and dialects.
